10th August 2019: With great joy and enthusiasm the Amra Kajan Boys' Club, Durgapur started its preparations for the its most awaited annual holy event, The 41st Sri Shyama Puja 2019 with the religious tradition of Khuti Puja. A traditional ritual was followed by the members and residents of Edison Road and with the traditional festive beats of Dhak, the puja was done. Khuti Puja is a ritual which is followed before making any structure to praise the Almighty and mother Earth and pray to her for blessings. The Shyama Puja Managing Committee members along with other members and residents prayed for the successful conduct of the event. AKBC's Sri Sri Shyama Puja has over the 4 decades won many accolades and have been judged as the No. 1 pandal in the city of Durgapur for its unique display of creativity in the form of magestic puja pandals. People from across the state of West Bengal come to visit the oandal. The pandal witnesses a footfall of near about 10,000 people every year. This year the Sri Sri Shyama Puja will mark its 41st Year which is itself a grand record. The festival shall be celebrated in the month of November in the premises of Amra Kajan Boys' Club, Edison Road, B-Zone, Durgapur, West Bengal.
